The CompassCPA Contract Costing Module is designed to record all costs and revenues associated with a contract.

-- Various business costs--Goods and services invoices for a specific contract, labor from payroll, and receipt of goods from purchase orders, may be charged to a contract, in addition to inventory or general expense accounts.

-- Issue materials from stock and charge them against a contract and post sales revenue to a contract with the CompassCPA Contract Costing Module.

-- Analyze the cost and revenue associated with a contract for profit and/or loss for each resource or for the entire contract.

-- Certain reporting may optionally group similar products and show only product group totals.

-- Because contracts share traits, they are grouped into contract "classes." Attributes which are set for a contract class are then applied automatically to all the contracts in that class.

-- Contracts may also be defined as being part of a master contract; however, costs and revenues continue to accumulate for the individual contracts and can be reported at that level.

-- Contract Costing supports a multi-company and a multi-currency environment.

-- Contract Costing interfaces to Payroll to provide the information required for establishing the labor cost of a contract.

-- Full retention processing is provided which allows a portion of a charge to be identified as retention, with automatic posting to Accounts Receivable.

-- A facility is provided to adjust the split between retained and non-retained amounts on any invoice.
